Busy Weekends!

I finally seem to have developed a life away from the computer - well, for the next few weekends anyway.

This weekend just gone Yorkie and I went over to his folks for Christphers (eldest nephew) 5th birthday. We went over on Saturday and came back Monday. Next weekend I have an Ann Summers party to host (all being well) and a dress shopping trip with Jacquie for her wedding, the weekend after that is Tara's hen night, after that we're back to Yorkie's home town for Nicky's birthday (younger nephew) and Gary's 4oth (Yorkie's brother in law / nephews dad), and the weekend after THAT is my birthday and Colin & Tara's wedding.....

Phew!

Yorkie's managed to book a few weekends off, luckily some of them landed on his weekends off anyway so he seem'sto have got away with it, only using a few of his holidays. he took Monday off this week as he had the weekend off, and Tuesday and Thu this week anyway. We drove down to Maltby on Saturday... Chris's birthday party was being held at his paternal grandparents house with the better part of a dozen kiddies attending. Poor Rachel had served up a huge feast for the kids, who were all too hot in the 34+ degree heat to have any intrest in any of it - apart from the jelly! Christine and Leo (Rachels parents in law, Chris & Nicky's grandparents) have a HUGE garden... I mean MASSIVE! With a lawn big enough to hold 2 or 3 of the bouncy castles, let alone the one there was, plus two levels of decking, an avaery sized rabbit house, a wooden sun lounge, a wendy house, a carp pond, and an extra patch of land dedicated to their dogs running down to a stream. There is no pont in that garden where you can stand and be able to see it all! THAT BIG!

Birthday Boy Chris with the indestrucatble Turtles "ooze" pinyata!

Poor Chris isn't very well though, and evn though he joined in with the playing and games as he could, he spent quite a bit of time inside with the adults where it was cooler and quieter. On monday Rachelt ook him to the docs and apparently he has something called "slap cheek" and will be fine in a few days.

Sunday was lunch at Kate and Daves with Bob who had also come over from Birmingham for Chris's birthday. One day I will have to admit to Kate and Dave that I really don't like Yorkshire Puddings, but other than that it was a good afternoon. I love when Yorkie and his brother get together, they have my in stitches! And their mum joins in, either winding them up or being woundup by them (all in loving fun, not nastiness). I laughed so hard I was in tears at one point!

We didn't see Jenny as she's on holiday, and it seems that no one has seen much - if anything - of Tony since Christmas. But I didn't want to come home on Monday. Being over there really brings home the fact that I have next to no family of my own, well, hardly any that I know anyway. I have dozens of cousins but wouldn't know them if I fell over them in the street. I love spending time with Rachel and her kids and get on with her the best I think. Bob just makes me laugh till I cry, and Jenny always puts us up from as long we want when we come over to visit, even if Yorkie hasn't been in touch for months. It makes me wish I had brothers and sisters.

Still, we'll be backover in a couple of weeks! Can't wait!
