Happy Halloween Everyone!

I love halloween!

Lets face it, I love an excuse to dress my kids (and me) up!

So here's my kids, Jack as a skeleton and Tom as a bat, just before setting off for a party at Stefs (Adam & Conner's dad). I wasn't sure if grown-ups were dressing up or not, so I opted for a black outfit with hat and cape figuring I could lose the accessories if I was the only one. I wasn't though! Yay!!!

We had a nice time at the party. Jack got on well with the other kids (made good friends with a little devil) and Tom was ok so long as I holding him (mummys boy, ahhhh) I have a few snaps on flickr of the other kids in their costumes too. We missed the trick-or-treating though coz Mark wanted us home for tea (he was doing the roast) but to be fair I think Jack might still be a bit young and as Tom is already growing out of his 6-9 month bat-suit I'd have worried about him getting cold where the legs gapped. Next year I'll make sure they get to go!

Jack LOVES our pumpkin! I must make sure I do a better one next year, or maybe get 2 or 3 (1 big, 2 small) and experiment a bit with them! Get Jack to help as he'll be older then too. He keeps turning the light out and running up to it saying "Wow! Pimpim!" which is his word for pumpkin :oD tried to get a video of it.... but failed :0(

Recipe Review: Hairy Bikers liver & bacon with onions & gravy

I need a bit of comfort food at this time of year. I really love this recipe from The Hairy Bikers:  Liver and bacon with onions and gravy  and freely admit that I have whipped this from the BBC Food website. I follow the recipe (but sometimes chuck some mushrooms in too) and split it four ways at 11 pro points per serving. It's a classic, and even my 6 year old likes liver cooked like this - the 4 & 2 year olds need a little extra ketchup to convince them. The Hairy Bikers’ traditional liver and bacon makes a simple supper packed full of flavour and bursting with vitamins and minerals Ingredients 450g/1lb lambs’  liver , sliced and fully thawed if frozen 25g/1oz  butter 2 tbsp  sunflower oil 4 tbsp  plain flour 1  onion , halved lengthways and sliced 125g/4½oz rindless streaky  bacon  rashers, each cut into 4–5 pieces 1  beef stock  cube 500ml/18fl oz  jus t-boiled water 1–2 tsp tomato  ketchup salt and freshly ground  black pepper Preparation method Rinse the liver in a cola
