Scan Apt

What a day! My apt for the PCOS scan was 1.50pm. When I got to the hospital I went through to the women's unit and tried to check in, but the reception shutters were down with a note up saying "Lunch 1pm - 2pm"... ten mins after my apt... A couple expecting a baby arrived at the same sort of time, with an appointment for 1.55pm, and between us we tracked down a member of staff who assured us that we could wait in the waiting room and we would be called, regardless of reception being shut. Fair enough. And at 1.50pm a nurse (I assume) came though to find out who we were and book us in. Only my name wasn't on his list. Turns out I should be at X-Ray, not the women's unit! DOH! I didn't even know they did this kind of scan in x-ray. Women's unit made sense, being a woman's problem, and I had been there for scans carrying Jack. Anyway, that gave me about 2 seconds to get across the hospital to the right department, and i was only a couple of mins late, al

Return to the docs

Grrr! Now, I think my Doc is the greatest. He's brilliant. But some times medicine in general hacks me off. Yesterday morning I went for my apt at 9.30 like I was told. I went to the automated self checking in touch screen as we're all supposed to do, keyed in my info, and was told I didn't have an apt. So went to the desk, where the phelb-wotsit (blood) woman told me to go and do it again. When I told here what it said she grudgingly tapped into the computer herself and told me my apt was at 9, not 9.30. My card says 9.30! Anyway, I told her I was only here to get my blood results, maybe the doc could squeeze me in for 2 mins. She said she could give me the results and called them up on the pc and announced that they were positive, I was fine. (Der!!! That means there's something NOT obvious wrong with me!) I said I'd still like to see him because there was still something wrong with me, and these tests coming back pos was NOT a help. She tutted and went to cal

France!!!

So we've been back to France! As usual Jack was a little STAR on the plane, opting to sleep for most of the flight to and from Geneva. I was very proud of our little man. When we came through customs Dad and Fay were waiting for us at the fence/barriar thingumy. We said hello, passed Jack over, and walked around, half expecting him to kick off and start screaming because he had been handed to 2 people he didn't know very well while mummy and daddy 'walked off'. But he didn't. He smiled at each of them! And didn't even give a hint of concern! We had a bit of a quiet time this trip, mostly just letting Jack run around as much as he liked in his nappy & t-shirt, or nappy & shorts. He doesn't do well with the heat, just like his dad. But Jack LOVED being nearly nude all the time! The best toys in the world right now are three globe style metal candel holders, they bang and crash and clatter and chime and spin! I think we might have to go and BUY some!
