Recent conversations with Jack...

Household chores
Washing up. "Mummy, bubbles?" Me "Yep. I'm washing the dishes." Jack, "Dishes have bubblebath?? Why?"

Cooking: "Mummy! Careful! Hot hot hot! Get ouchie!", me "it's ok, Jack. Mummy will be careful", Jack "Noooo! Mummy get ouchie!"  Love him! But need to cook the sausages... don't fancy them raw.

Being very smart

Playing with toy money. Daddy is holding Tom. Jack grabs a handfull of plastic coins and sticks it to Tom's bottom "Change Tom's Bum!" (which for anyone who doesn't know is what we say when Tom needs a new nappy...)

Being not so smart

Jack (out of no where): "Why?" Me, "Why what?" Jack "Yes, Why?" me "Erm, why what? What do you want to know?" Jack "Why?" Me... quickly distract him with something - anything - else.

The human body

Resolutions

Last year I said.....
On to New Years Resolutions.... anyone else got any this year?

Mine are to start cooking proper Sunday Dinners (now we have a good oven, there's no excuse!), and to get the hose decorated again. Our room, Jack's"big boy" room, the livingroom, and (if pushed) the stairs & landing too.

Mark suggested that he might quit smoking again. I'm hoping it's also to get a new job, as we're REALLY going to need the money very soon!
And this is how we did!

We live in a smoke free home! Well done Mark who quite back in October and has stayed off them even though he's gone back to work.

We have has a roast every week unless we were away or too ill to cook (which we agreed was acceptable)

The livingroom is almost decorated (celing to paint...), Jack's room is almost finished (vent cover to put up and drawers to mend), stairs & landing are half way done, our room never got touched. But as my beloved husband is a true procrastina…

New Year then....

So this is 2011...

A belated Happy New Year to you all

So far it's been busy :oD which is why it's taken until today to get on here and make a post!

Christmas was nice, aside from just about everyone being ill with some form of lergy or another. For us it was Tom's first christmas, and also the first time Jack really got the hang of what was going on. He has become fixated on Christmas trees and loved ours

Tom's quite a fan of tinsel too it would seem. We took a trip round B&Q and I found some being sold off and thought "Who can have too much tinsel?" ... Tom had staked a claim on his before it was even in the trolly! I'm pretty sure it's not considered a safe toy for a 6 month baby, but you try telling him that!

It's not just been a first christmas for us though. My brother in law and his missus have Ben's first christmas too (and my step bro and his wife with baby Rommy, but we didn't see them this year).

BUT it's not all just be…
