Dress Shopping

Yay! Another thing of the list - two things actually because I'm certain I have the right replacement shoes for me too! Drove down to Mum's this morning, picked her up and drove over to Jacquie's, and from there the three of us and Jac's two daughters headed over to the Trafford Centre. It turned out to be a really easy shopping trip - and surprisingly quick too! First off, Debenhams . The first dresses we saw for child bridesmaids looked just about perfect. Little ivory dresses with chiffon type fabric over the skirt and little flowers embroidered on the top. This means that they are the same ivory as my dress, and have some green included too which makes them ideal. And they had Caitlin & Mia's sizes too. The girls tried them on, with co-ordinating shoes, and looked brilliant! We looked at others, but none of them came close so we had them put aside and moved onto the next shop. Monsoon had a sale on, and we were hopeful, but nothing was quite right. They had

Weekend Away

Another one... My poor little car isn't used to making 300 mile round trips every few weeks! And neither am I! Yorkie's lucky, he gets to sleep in the car being a non-driver. Me? Well, I have to cope with winds and rain lashing the car and getting bounced around in general by the weather in what is suposed to be a city car. It's shattering! But still, it has to be done so I do it, and I do like going to visit his family (soon to be my in-laws). Jenny is on a well deserved holiday after her exams so we stayed at Kates this time. She's looking after Jenny's cat as well as her own two, and poor Olly was a bit shy - until he recognised us and have us a friendly laserating... We mainly went over so that Yorkie could try on the jacket Kate is making him for the wedding. The bodice is well on the way, and the jacket skirt and sleaves were pinned on while he wore it to get it right. It looks great! It's a brilliant shape for him, showing off how broad his shoulders are

From Kate

My mum-in-law-to-be sent us this a few days ago. Only just got a minute to look at is this morning. (Sorry Kate, I do read your emails. But I have been a bit snowed under and only clicked the link this morning!) If you love Euro Vision, or if you hate it.... click here . Now, I'm no great fan of the show. I love watching the voting for it's 'crapness' (if that's a word) and to listen to Terry Wogan get lashed, but don't really give a toss about the song we submit. You see, here in the UK we don't have to qualify, we just get straight in because we put up funding (so Kate tells me, I had no idea that this is where our TV Licenecing money goes) and because of that we can produce a SHITE song, sing at the Euro Vision, and show our selves up coming second to last.... If we had to qualify like the rest of them then we'd be forced to submit a good song (if a Euro Vision song from anyone can be called good) to get on the show. And who knows, we might even WIN!

Prima Photo Shoot!

Now then.... Some time ago I got a comment on one of my posts: this one To be honest, I didn't expect anything to come of it, but I did drop her an email back saying that yes, I'd do an interview. Sure enough, a few days later I got a call from Ruth and did the interview. It seemed to go ok, but again, I didn't think I would nessearily hear anything else after that. That's nothing against Ruth or Prima you understand, I just didn't think I was intresting enough to feature in a magazine. BUT! Again, a few days later I got another call from the magazine asking to arrange a photoshoot day, and as I had mentioned that I was trying to lose weight for the wedding (and more importantly to fit into thie £1,250 wedding dress that already been made and paid for) how would I feel about having the photos taken in my wedding dress!! A few problems with this though, I was not due to have a fitting until June 13th and they needed it as soon as possible. I don't fit in the dres

Stuff moving on

Yorkie finally got his Stag Do sorted... although there was that much chopping and changing involved that I'm not really sure what's happening. They ARE going to Ireland (we used my card to book the flights) and they are booked into a hostel for at least one night.... (also charged to me, that's why I know). Friday to Monday, with some people coming home on the Sunday because of work obligations. So I stand corrected (and with my hand slapped) for teasing and laughing and comments on the general uselessness of men (although, had I not been here with my handy debit card, nothing would have been booked, but I'll not mention that, right?). A few days ago Mum came over and we went into town with Yorkie and Mark to order the highland wear for Mark and my Dad. There was much mirth about the email from Dad I'd printed off with his measurements on (mostly because he was making out they were wrong, when we all know that they aren't. We have faith in Fay's measurement

How brillaint am I?

I must confess to shamefull feelings of superiority today! I have just finishing booking and arranging payment for my hen night! That's it... all done now bar posting off one cheque. We have a hotel for the night. We have a show at Wicked (male lap dancing and a drag show) We have transport from the hotel to the club (Limos, no less!) We have bubbly I have the train times too and from Blackpool, I have my guest list. Everything is all sotered and all tickey-boo! Yorkie on the other hand.... Well. yesterday we went for lunch with Mark & Gemma. Partly to catch up, but maily so that groom and best man could do the whole stag night (weekend) thing, as Yorkie had done NOTHING! This is despite both me and Mark nagging at him to get stuff done for months and months. While we were eating lunch in town they were set on having a camping trip in Ireland, maybe near a brewery so they could have tour and a free drink, and then get utterly lashed afterwards. Once upon a time it was going to

LOST SOME WEIGHT!

And about bloody time too.... I've been stuck at 12 stone for BLOODY AGES! And I was starting to think that I'd never start shedding any more weight. it's only 2 lb, but still, it's better than a gain. I'm off to Adam's 2nd birthday in a bit. I think I'll be staying clear of the buffet to the most part. And I'm taking the car so I wont be drinking with the other non-parents. Trying to get slim SUCKS! Be back later with photos!

Trip to the In Laws

I ought to know by now that when Jenny says she'll have "a room and some bedding sorted out" for us when we come over to visit, that that is just what we get. And I mean JUST! A room with no bed, curtains, or door. Just an airbed (deflated) and some bedding. We had to laugh! For about 20 mins Jenny and I tried to use duck tape to stick a make-shift curtain up over the window but it was useless and just kept falling down. In the end we slept in the living room! Always an adventure! I hated the drive there, and the drive back. I'm still not happy in the car on the motorway. It's as though I've stopped trusting the car. Or myself to drive it safely. But needless to say we got there and back and all as we should be. Jenny is making progress with the house, aside from not having guest room yet. Her room looks great, the kitchen is well on the way with it's new units, and the bathroom's looking good too. I'm envious that she's managed to get somethi
