Finally sorted

Can't believe it took this long, but finally my kit arrived at the yatch club, so I can now - fianlly - do a proper job of it! The secretary (Synthia?) has been lovely though, she made a point of saying that they all knew it wasn't my fault that the kit wasn't fully there, or that no one was sent to cover my shift on Saturday gone. Seems daft I know, but regardless of what job I'm doing I want to put in 100% or not bother, and it was making me really mad that I was being prevented from doing it.

Take a moment....

To think about Adam Brisley. On the news today was a bit of a shock. This guy was in my Multi-Media class at L&M college a couple of years back. He's a real wind-up merchant, but no one deserves this!!! News report: 29th Aug News Report: 30th Aug (Added) News Report: 31st Aug (Added) Police Site Get well soon Adam

UESLESS CONTRACTORS!

Really and truely!!! Useless!!! Doesn't help that this morning Yorkie and I woke up in no fit state to go to work, although we both had too. bank holidays do not apply to gardeners or cleaners you see... Drove him to work for 8.30 and then stopped off at the local supermarket (which thanks to the bank holiday didn't open till 9) for some cheap t-shirts I wouldn't mide wrecking with bleach and other cleaning fluids, and to get some energy drinks. Needless to say I did not relish the thought of spending a hung over morning up to my elbow in someone elses toilets! Rolled into the Club's carpark a little before 10am and started searching for my supplies. And guess what... they aren't there! The boss was dealing with a customer, and I couldn't see the usual shop lady (I don't know anyone's names yet) so I went up to the second office to collectmy keys and speak to the secretery to see if she knew where my supplies were. Clearly only the boss was in today so

Colin & Tara's Wedding (Feat Gordon Ramsey)

The wedding guests were asked to assemble at the Lancaster House Hotel before 4pm, with the service to start at about that time. Tara looked lovely in her dress - what bride doesn't? She came in to Pachelbel's Canon (which is was me and Yorkie are having for our wedding too), and was almost in tears through the vows. Very sweet. There were also some funny moments, the reading were sweet and funny (done by Gary and Ozz), and registara made a few amusing comments, and some one on the front row let off a massive trouser ripping fart half way through the service! However, I was sat next to Kathy! She and her feller (who was best man), and Gary and Andy were outside having a smoke when we arrived so we stopped and had a natter before we were all called in to take our seats for the service. As we walked though Jill came over to Gary and the others (Fran & Simon, Ray & Sarah, Olly, Ozz and Ozz's new gf) followed too and we walked in together. Jill, Gary, Ray and Sarah took

I'M 27!

Yep, it's my birthday! I am 27 years old today... Woo... Had a nice quiet time of it. I got a lovely long lie in with Yorkie this morning, followed by a scrummy breakfast in bed (a sausage and egg butty, and a bacon and egg butty with loads of coffee! YUM!), and then we went shopping - not normally what I would like to do on my birthday but we still needed a few bits for the wedding tomorrow and I have managed a nice catch of £95 in birthday money which is burning a hole in my pocket! I bought some DVDs (Robots, Valient, Flight of the Navigator, and There's Something About Mary) that were on special at 2 for a tenner, and a new black shirt (as John insisted that I bought some clothes with the money, and I could have bought some brown boots I had my eye on, but they had none in my size) and the rest has been put aside for now. We spent the afternoon and early evening snuggled up together watching movies (some of the ones I'd just bought and some on Sky) munching on junk foo

Where's my STUFF???

Well, day two as a cleaner, and as nice as the people are at the Club, the Contracters are USELESS! I wasn't really expecting my missing supplies to be sat there waiting for me this morning, but I was expecting that my brief would be there, or at least SOMEONE from the contractors as I had my paper work to hand in. We get paid monthly, and the wages are processed on the 5th of the month, and with the August Bank Holiday looming I really need to get mybank details handed in so that I don't have to wait 6 weeks before I get my first pay cheque. No one was there to great me, so I made my presence known to the staff and go to work. The first hour and a half must be dedicated to the public facilities - which is why my saturday shift is just an hour and a hlaf as I not expected to do the staff areas on the weekend. So that's 3 shower / toilet stalls, 2 toilets and the laundry which all need to have the toilets scrubbed, mirrors polished, sinks cleaned, walls scrubbed and floor sw

First day at the Yatch Club

Still like the sound of that, it sounds so much better than "My first day as a cleaner" I can't help coming across as being a bit of a snob. It's not that I think being a cleaner is a bad thing, or that cleaners or any less worthwile people than anyone else. I know it comes across like that, but it's not the truth. My issue is with myself. It's because I have spent so many years at college training and getting qualifications, and because I half packed in my job at MM making myself expendable and eventually getting let go all because I wanted to run my own business, and it's not making enough money to get by on. I feel like a bit of a failure that despite everything I have been given, and everything I worked towards, and I have still ended up being "just a cleaner". I'm very sorry if that offends anyone. It isn't ment to. Anyway, I shall move on. I was due to start my first shift at 10am, and was asked to come in a little early as it was

Nicky & Gary's Birthdays

So were've been back to Yorkie's folks for another birthday celebration. Two, actually. Little Nick is 3, and Gary is 40! The party was at gary's parents again, like it was for Christophers, but it was a smaller crowd this time, with just family and Rachels friend Nikky who has two sons about the same age as her's and Gary's. This time Jenny was there - back from her holiday - but Bob wasn't as he's been struck down with one of these tummy bugs that have been floating about lately, and Chris seemed to be over his "Slap Cheek" from his own birthday. The weather was threatening to be crappy, the alleged "August will be as hot if not hotter than July" hasn't happened and it's actually been cool and damp! But when there's a bouncy castle involed a little rain doesn't stop kids - little and big! Even I ended up on it this time when Nicky grabbed my leg and begged me to comeand play with him (Whos heart wouldn't melt??). Dav

New Job

Nothing to really get excited about. I wish I wasn't having to do this, but hey. The business needs supplimenting, and we need the cash especially with the wedding to think about. So I've taken this little job. Only 8 and a half hours a week, over three days. 2 x 3 1/2 hours, 1 x 1 1/2 hours, Mon, Thu and Sat (But not Sat 26th, as that is my birthday!) I start on monday. To start with it sounds very glamourous, I'll be working at Glasson Basin Yatch Ltd , the yatch club over at Glasson Dock. Whaty is less glamourous is that I'll be the cleaner!!! Yes, ladies and gents,I am being paid to scrub toilets and showers, and to hoover up other peoples skin flakes and hair! THIS IS NOT WHAT I TOOK MY DEGREE TO WIND UP DOING! Still, money is money, and beggers cannot be choosers etc. And it doesn't have to be forever either...

The Hen Night

Ohhh.......... Three words for you: Too Much Wine I was poorly by the end of the night. Very very poorly! Circumstances were against me from the start. I'll be honest, despite the fact that I KNEW she would be going to the wedding, it never occured to me that the "demon ex" would be at the hen night. But there she was. And I over-compensated for my dislike and distrust of the woman to what - looking back now with a clear head - was embarasing lengths. The night it self was geat though. I think there were about 12 or 14 of us, plus the "actors" who put on the Titanic show. We were sat in two tables, with Tara, Jill, Sarah, Kathy and two ladies I did know sat on the same table as me, and the rest of the girls i didn't know on the other. We were also, therefore, in two teams. Our team lost! We pinned the murders on Tara (why???) when it was clearly a member of the cast. On this tableI was sat at, only myself and Kathy were drinking red wine. Every one else was

Getting our vows!

Well, it's arrived! The book with the ceremony in it, with the choices of vows etc in it! Actually, it arrived on Monday, but I've so ill this week that I haven't had chance to get all hyper about it just yet. Me and Yorkie have had a flick through it, and there are some bits that we both really like, but we want to have a good long indepth look together so we're waiting till next week before we make any choices because he's got a weeks holiday starting Monday and we can give it our full undivided attention then. There are spaces within the plan for 3 readings. Mum wants to read a sonet, which means that Dad wants to read someting (heaven forbid that he should be out shone by my mother) which leaves a potential third slot if Yorkie wants anyone to read something, maybe one of his family members, or perhaps Ozz who seems to like doing readings at peoples weddings (he was very good at Ray & Sarah's last year), or anyone else for that matter if Yorkie wants it.

Stuff for Tara's Hen Night

Weerrrrr the colours a bit off on that photo! So this is part of my get-up for Saturday Night and Tara's hen night. She's having a Titanic themed murder mystery night and we're all going dressed as flappers! I've got myself a (rather dodgy) short black wig (which is giving me a serious headache trying to keep on over my long hair), a headband with feathers, some big red beads and matching bracelet. I've raided my wardrobe for loose fitted long back top, and a two layered mid-calf white skirt with floral print, which togther with the beads are close enough for me! I draw the line at fringe! Although, right now, I am stuffed full of a cold. A nasty one at that. The back of my throat is red raw, my nose it stuffed up and snotty, my sinouses are killing me and I keep sneezing. I spent all of yesterday sleeping on the settee in the frount room (with the exception of Darren calling round for a few mins to pick some stuff up for his kids, and for the Big Brother eviction /

Cat Videos!

I stole this from SomethingsMissingHere Talking Cats Easily the coolest thing I have seen on the web for a LONG time! And while you're at it, and if you love cats, click here ! It reminded me of my old fave: Cat Dance

Dress for Jacs Wedding

This is the dress that I will be wearing to Jacquies wedding! She's hopping to find some dresses for Caitlin & Mia too, we looked at the ones on this photo that the little girls are wearing, but apart from there not being those dresses available in the right sizes (damn those summer sales) I'm not so sure that they are the ones Jacquie wants. The colours don't actually match the adult dress! The original shopping trip was a complet wash-out though, I felt really sorry for Jacquie. It was supposed to be a shopping trip for both her wedding in October, and her brother's bride to be whose wedding is on August bank holiday. So, other than myself and Jacs there was her mum, her older sister and her brother's intended, plus a host of kiddies, and dresses were supposed to be found for the little girls for both weddings, for Jacquie to wear at her brothers wedding, and for me to wear at Jacquie's wedding. Her mum seemed to have NO intrest in dresses for Jacquie'

Busy Weekends!

I finally seem to have developed a life away from the computer - well, for the next few weekends anyway. This weekend just gone Yorkie and I went over to his folks for Christphers (eldest nephew) 5th birthday. We went over on Saturday and came back Monday. Next weekend I have an Ann Summers party to host (all being well) and a dress shopping trip with Jacquie for her wedding, the weekend after that is Tara's hen night, after that we're back to Yorkie's home town for Nicky's birthday (younger nephew) and Gary's 4oth (Yorkie's brother in law / nephews dad), and the weekend after THAT is my birthday and Colin & Tara's wedding..... Phew! Yorkie's managed to book a few weekends off, luckily some of them landed on his weekends off anyway so he seem'sto have got away with it, only using a few of his holidays. he took Monday off this week as he had the weekend off, and Tuesday and Thu this week anyway. We drove down to Maltby on Saturday... Chris's b
