GD Clinic...

And it went ok to be fair. I was in and out under an hour today but I think that's only because I'd brought Tom with me. Mark was going to look after both boys, but Jack had his pre-school booster jabs today - right in the middle of my clinic - and Mark didn't fancy his chances of keeping a good watch on Tom while Jack was getting needled! So he took Jack and Tom came with me. No one in clinic liked the idea of having a board and stroppy toddler hanging around so we were rushed through (even though Tom was as good as gold). We were even in town in time for  me  to take Jack for his jabs!!! Brave little feller didn't even flinch. *pride* But I'm getting off the subject. My blood sugars are fine. Smudges growth is fine. Everyone is happy. Even Ms Chari was civil - almost polite! And they don't want to see me again until I'm at my 3rd tri for a growth scan and follow up GD clinic - unless my BGL's start to go up (so I do need to check them) in which c

Scan day!!!!!

And it went really really well! We wound up taking Jack with us.When I got him down to nursery this morning we were turned away because the boiler had broken down and they were below the minimum required temp! It is a bit bloomin cold though today. I had wrapped Jack up well enough to face a blizzard, haha. So to make up for him missing nursery I asked if he would like to come to the hospital and see baby Smudge on the telly - just like in the book "There's a House Inside My Mummy" where the daddy tells the little boy that he has seen inside mummy's tummy at the new baby. Tom is still too young and there is no way Mark could cope with both at the same time so my mum looked after Tom and we went off to the RLI. They are doing some training today so we go a super super long scan! And LOADS of pics too! My GD middy was getting trained up on the scan machine so I was more than fine with her "practicing" on me :o) I got extra photos for free too! 4 of the s

Wet weekend

Having the scan on Monday means the weekend is dragging. We should have been going to visit bro-in-law and family but hubby decided we couldn't afford the trip in the end (would have cost near on £200 to be fair with petrol, hotel, meals etc) which leaves me at a loose end. And the weather is nasty so going to the park is out of the question. Soooo we've been baking! Quick trip to Asda this morning for some extra butter, ground ginger, and writing icing, and maybe a lunch in the cafe (shh!), then home for a flurry of flour and brown sugar! This is the first time I've let Tom get really hands on with the baking and he had a great time. Jack always loves baking. We've followed this: http://www.cookuk.co.uk/children/ginger_bread_men.htm and we have made yummy gingerbread. Jack's had a go at decorating some of them. He's done a Jack, a Tom, a Daddy, and a Mummy complete with Baby Smudge in the tum. Very cute! Won't eat those till Mark comes home and sees th

Catch up

Never a moments rest in this place! Since my last post we've all had - and recovered from - a D&V bug that went round Jack nursery so badly they had to shut for a day to decontaminate! I managed to blow a whole months tax credits on Christmas presents. The car went through its MOT and service (with change from £200). I might have bagged a place in the boss's new company (please please please!) Oh... And I'm 20 weeks preg today too! I had my 16 week midwife appointment late (18+6) and Smudge would not hold still long enough to get a heart beat reading on the doppler, but is clearly fit and well coz me and the middy both found loads of movement.  I get my gender scan on Monday, and my gd clinic appt on Wednesday. Really hoping we (I) get to know what sex Smudge is! I'd LOVE a girl this time but can't help thinking we have our 3rd baby boy in here and that's pretty special too. Hubby still wants it to be a surprise so like with Tom I won't be publicly b

Bonfire night n body snatchers

Haha... I think someone has swapped kids on me! Both boys have been so well behaved this last few days. The last 24hours or so especially. With it being bonfire night yesterday, and my dad being over, I thought it would be nice to go and see the fireworks up at the Castle. Only they don't start till 8pm, an hour after bedtime! So the plan was to take the kids out through the day, ware them out, get them both for an afternoon nap, so they would be able to enjoy the show without being all moody. And.... It worked! Gob smacked doesn't cover it! And today, well they are both still tired from the late night so I suggested a nap before friends come over to play... And they've gone! I'm keeping these ones!
