We might be sick, but get a load of Tom!

We've been struck down with yet another D&V bug, or maybe food poisoning, or something. Since Monday Mark, Tom and I have been pretty grotty. Jack's been ok, which is why Mark thinks it's something we've eaten what with me still feeding Tom.

But that's not what this post is about.... It's about Tom....

Who yesterday morning produced 2 teeth! Front bottom two together, just cutting through the gum. And yes, he's bitten me once during a feed already. Hopefully that will be the only time or he'll be off the boob faster than fast! He can stay as long as he's good (within reason, I already have comments from hubby et al about "bitty", sigh....)

He's also motoring...! A kind of half crawl, half bum shuffle :oD but he can move fast if he wants to, fast enough to pilfer his brother abandoned snacks, knab all his best toys, tip over his juice the moment his back is turned.

And we finally have a "best" toy ... not as cute or as cuddly as Jack's Splodge. Tom adores his yellow drum stick. He carries it every where, jumps about and laughs if you produce if for him when he's been without for a while, and gets very very cross if anyone tries to take it away. He uses it as a teether. I can only assume it is the best teether in the world, ever!

Recipe: Pigsty Pie

This is one that we made up, although we are far from the first or only people to make a pie using pork or pork mince and call it a Pigsty Pie. So let's just say that this is our version of it. It smells great and reminds me of stuffing at Christmas, making it feel much more "naughty" than it is! This serves four people and it a nice 9 points per serving. You will need these for the mash: 400g potatoes 400g sweet potatoes 4-5 good sized carrots Salt Pepper Nutmeg Simply chop the roots, boil in salted water until tender, and mash! Add salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste. The pie filling: 10 sprays low fat cooking spray (e.g. 1 cal) 1/2 lb lean pork mince 2 onions, finely chopped 3 apples, diced 1 leek, chopped 5-6 big mushrooms 2 tbs plain flour 1 tsp sage 1 tsp parsley Salt Pepper 1 vegetable stock cube 1/2 hot water 2 tsp English mustard Fry the onions in the cooking spray until they start to soften, add the mince. Once the meat starts to colour add the apple, leek and mush
