Why? Well, I'm very lucky that I am not posting this because someone I love has suffered or been lost die to Mens Health Issues. But I do have a lot of men in my life that I love and care about ( no, not like that!!! Cheeky! ) like my 3 lovely sons, my hubby and my dad to mention just the obvious. Then there's my extended family, my step-families, and my in-laws, my friends. And when you think that 1 in 8 men with suffer prostate cancer, boys as young as 15 are being diagnosed with testicular cancer, and 1 in 4 people (men and women) are suffering with mental health issues ... Well I'm not going to wait until someone I love is ill before I start to care.
We all know men are RUBBISH when it comes to going to the doctors. My Hubby will complain for months on end before I drag him kicking and screaming in to the doctors. So far we've been very lucky. By raising awareness with Movember men will hopefully see that there are things they need to get checked out, and the sooner the better. And that going to see a doctor or other health professional isn't any kind of weakness. It is, in fact, as manly as can be!
