Aaaaaaaaand..... relax *ahhhhhh*

No more work for a year!!!
Whoohoo!

I got a box of nice choccies and a hug from my few remaining staff on site and my last day was pleasantly uneventful. I managed to stay clear of *her*, was wished well by the bosses and told it was ok to bring baby in to see everyone (but on a quiet day considering my due date is in the busy summer!)

It feels odd though... Last time the birth was imminent... due two weeks after my last day, but born 1 week after. This time I have ages! And loads to do... but still. A bit of an anticlimax.

I am simply going to HAVE to throw myself into my nesting phase!

Our new bed comes on Monday. This bed that we have was here when I moved in, and it's dropping to bits! Literally. It's broken and has been for months! So we've used the Argos vouchers we have been saving for the last couple of years (many thanks to friends and family) to buy a nice new one! Yay!! The old bed is divan, this one isn't, so we instantly have some more storage space under this bed (just need some storage boxes to put under there) for things like out of season cloths, kiddies cloths, books... you get the idea! Basically, a lot of the stuff which is taking up Jack's big-boy-room.

I think, after that, I'll push to get this skip hired. There's stuff that needs getting rid of under the house and in the back garden. Once that's gone we'll have a bit more room for the stuff we actually WANT to keep. Hopefully with some space under the house Mark'll put up the new door (and lock) and will start to store his tools in there and not in my kitchen (grrrrrrrrrrrr).

I think Mark has caught the bug too.... he's planning on dismantling the old bed pretty much as soon as we're up on Monday, and then getting some new shelving up ready and ready before needing to put the bed up in time for sleepy time :oD He's been cutting and painting wood ready all week!!

Yay! No work! Yay! Nesting! Yay!

Recipe: Pigsty Pie

This is one that we made up, although we are far from the first or only people to make a pie using pork or pork mince and call it a Pigsty Pie. So let's just say that this is our version of it. It smells great and reminds me of stuffing at Christmas, making it feel much more "naughty" than it is! This serves four people and it a nice 9 points per serving. You will need these for the mash: 400g potatoes 400g sweet potatoes 4-5 good sized carrots Salt Pepper Nutmeg Simply chop the roots, boil in salted water until tender, and mash! Add salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste. The pie filling: 10 sprays low fat cooking spray (e.g. 1 cal) 1/2 lb lean pork mince 2 onions, finely chopped 3 apples, diced 1 leek, chopped 5-6 big mushrooms 2 tbs plain flour 1 tsp sage 1 tsp parsley Salt Pepper 1 vegetable stock cube 1/2 hot water 2 tsp English mustard Fry the onions in the cooking spray until they start to soften, add the mince. Once the meat starts to colour add the apple, leek and mush
