Bumpdate @ 22 Weeks

Back at the GD Clinic

GD clinic was ok. My BP is good, no probs with my blood sugars, even saw the demon consultant and she was pleasant with me for once. She couldn't give me an induction date yet but did at least explain why she couldn't. They set the induction date by the rate of the babies excess growth, and as that can fluctuate wildy at this stage there would be no point setting a date as it could easily change drastically. At 30-32 weeks the growth is more stable and they can book then. Reasonable I suppose.

I'm back on May 21st for growth scan and clinic (26 weeks), with the usual instructions to call if my blood sugars go mental in the meantime. I have the MW on 7th May too. So it's quiet for the rest of this month now.

Here's what Fertility Friend says about baby this week:

Your baby now weighs almost 1 lb (450g) and measures about 8 inches (20cm) from crown to rump. She is becoming plumper as her fat is being laid down at a high rate, but her skin is still wrinkled and reddish. The wrinkled and loose appearance of her skin is due to the faster production of her skin than the fat that fills it out. The reddish appearance of her skin is due to the deposition of pigment as her skin loses its translucent appearance. Your baby can kick and punch vigorously by now, but she may also be gently feeling the umbilical cord and rubbing her hands and face against the inside membrane of the amniotic sac that holds her. She is still swallowing amniotic fluid (which provides an important nutritional supplement to the nutrition she gets from you via the placenta) and is passing some of it as urine. The swallowing of the amniotic fluid may cause your baby to get the hiccups and you may even be able to feel this as her body jumps inside yours. The lanugo hair on your baby's body may turn darker at this time.
2 more weeks until we're viable!

Facebook has changed it’s policy for posts to Facebook pages like mine. They are only showing posts to a few likers unless I pay to boost the views. Since I don't earn money from my blog (or at least not much, not even enough to buy one posh a coffee a week) I wont be doing that. The best way to make sure you will see my blog posts is to subscribe by email up there on the right. I usually only email once a week and include an invitation to my blog hop so you can share your posts too.

You can also go to my page, hover over the “liked” button and select get notifications. Then you will see my posts and status updates in your notifications. Mumma Walker on Facebook
