Bumpdate @ 31 Weeks

"Definitely Ish"

This has been a GOOD week! GD Clinic & Scan went well on Wednesday. There was no mention of me starting metfomin (doubt it will come up again now), my baby is still measuring big, but not big for me. Consultant said that while the growth charts are called "personalised" they do not take into account any previous babies. This baby is following the same lines as my other 3 pregnancies. She says she's not worried about me or my baby. She'd worry if my baby was small! This is what I have been saying from the start.

I also told her about the hassle I'd had trying to get my antibiotics. She was horrified that that pharmacist had not called my GP and got an alternative brand named, then she had my wee tested then and there, wrote me a new prescription, and directed me to the hospitals own pharmacy. I now have my antibiotics!

She also said "We will definitely induce you at 38 weeks - ish!" Which was about as clear as mud, but I'm hoping that by the end of week 38 (9th Aug) I will have my baby in my arms!!!!

With that in mind I have been baby shopping! I have some new cloth nappy things (some of our old stuff was getting worn out since it's been used on 3 kids already), new slings, and my Raspberry Leaf Tea and Evening Primrose Oil to try and get my body ready for this induction.

Here's what Fertility Friend says about baby this week:
Your baby's total length is 18.9 inches (42cm) and she is perfectly formed! She measures about 11.6 inches (29cm) from crown to rump. All she has to do is fill out more. Your baby weighs almost 4 pounds (1800g). If she were to be born now, she would still need to be incubated as she has insufficient fat stores to keep it warm.
Your baby can distinguish between light and dark.
Your baby can hear the outside world quite well now, and can also hear the sounds of your heartbeat, your digestion and the blood rushing in the umbilical cord. The pitch of women's voices are in the range babies are most able to hear over all the internal background noise. Your baby is already familiar with your voice and will be able to recognize it after birth.
Nesting is in full swing and new baby purchases are arriving almost daily!!!

Facebook has changed it’s policy for posts to Facebook pages like mine. They are only showing posts to a few likers unless I pay to boost the views. Since I don't earn money from my blog (or at least not much, not even enough to buy one posh a coffee a week) I wont be doing that. The best way to make sure you will see my blog posts is to subscribe by email up there on the right. I usually only email once a week and include an invitation to my blog hop so you can share your posts too.

Recipe: Pigsty Pie

This is one that we made up, although we are far from the first or only people to make a pie using pork or pork mince and call it a Pigsty Pie. So let's just say that this is our version of it. It smells great and reminds me of stuffing at Christmas, making it feel much more "naughty" than it is! This serves four people and it a nice 9 points per serving. You will need these for the mash: 400g potatoes 400g sweet potatoes 4-5 good sized carrots Salt Pepper Nutmeg Simply chop the roots, boil in salted water until tender, and mash! Add salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste. The pie filling: 10 sprays low fat cooking spray (e.g. 1 cal) 1/2 lb lean pork mince 2 onions, finely chopped 3 apples, diced 1 leek, chopped 5-6 big mushrooms 2 tbs plain flour 1 tsp sage 1 tsp parsley Salt Pepper 1 vegetable stock cube 1/2 hot water 2 tsp English mustard Fry the onions in the cooking spray until they start to soften, add the mince. Once the meat starts to colour add the apple, leek and mush
