Grandma Visited!

My Mother-in-law and her other half came to visit  today & meet baby Freddie. The plan was to take the kids to Morecambe and let them play while chat and pass Freddie round for cuddles.

Didn't happen... Flaming wrecked tire on my car! All the wall is ragged, and it's flat. Didn't know when I got in, with all the kids & hubby, ready to go out to a play zone with MIL & her HO following in their car. As I'm turning the car round he flashed his lights at me and waves out the window. He's spotted the flat.

Tried pumping it up but you could hear the air hissing out of the tire as fast as it was going in

Apparently ford galaxy's dont come with a spare tire... Just a puncture kit. Mine being 2nd hand has no such thing.

So no play zone until I can get my car to the garage in the week. I need the glow plugs looking at anyway, and the air con. But still.... Annoying as hell!

We walked to the local park instead - in the rain. But it worked out ok. The sun came out, I got to try out one of my new slings properly, and I wound up sharing a very surreal conversation with Mother-in-law, while sitting on a park bench like a pair of old biddies, about our mutual experience and dislike of cankles!

Facebook has changed it’s policy for posts to Facebook pages like mine. They are only showing posts to a few likers unless I pay to boost the views. Since I don't earn money from my blog (or at least not much, not even enough to buy one posh a coffee a week) I wont be doing that. The best way to make sure you will see my blog posts is to subscribe by email up there on the right. I usually only email once a week and include an invitation to my blog hop so you can share your posts too.

You can also go to my page, hover over the “liked” button and select get notifications. Then you will see my posts and status updates in your notifications. Mumma Walker on Facebook

Recipe: Pigsty Pie

This is one that we made up, although we are far from the first or only people to make a pie using pork or pork mince and call it a Pigsty Pie. So let's just say that this is our version of it. It smells great and reminds me of stuffing at Christmas, making it feel much more "naughty" than it is! This serves four people and it a nice 9 points per serving. You will need these for the mash: 400g potatoes 400g sweet potatoes 4-5 good sized carrots Salt Pepper Nutmeg Simply chop the roots, boil in salted water until tender, and mash! Add salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste. The pie filling: 10 sprays low fat cooking spray (e.g. 1 cal) 1/2 lb lean pork mince 2 onions, finely chopped 3 apples, diced 1 leek, chopped 5-6 big mushrooms 2 tbs plain flour 1 tsp sage 1 tsp parsley Salt Pepper 1 vegetable stock cube 1/2 hot water 2 tsp English mustard Fry the onions in the cooking spray until they start to soften, add the mince. Once the meat starts to colour add the apple, leek and mush
