Weigh In #11

Whoo! A 3lb loss for BOTH of us this week! I'm thrilled, Hubby is still in a state of disbelief! We're both getting comments from people about how much weight we are losing too. It's all good!

I've been using this FitBit for a week now and I am pretty impressed so far. It's certainly given me the motivation I needed to get moving a bit more, and the reassurance that I was recording the right Active Points for my walking.

This week I have allowed myself a couple of treats again - i.e. two trips to Costa Coffee which I should know better than to do now. BUT I have worked hard to make it work. I am within my points over the week, and I have earned 15 active points. On the days that I did go to Costa I had Zero Points Soups for lunch, fruit for breakfast and low fat, low card, high vegetable content dinners, as well as walking to and from town to help rack up those steps. I'm NOT going back to a twice weekly habit though! I need to make a stop to Juicafe instead - where I can drink for zero points. But I do sooooo love my coffee and cake!

I have also been browsing the pre-loved games section of the shops in town and picked up a copy of My Fitness Coach for the Wii which I have started to use on the days I don't go out walking. Coupled with my Wii Fit Plus I'm getting a nice work out and range of routines. I have also been checking out aerobic routines and "mommy & baby" routines on YouTube, although I haven't tried any yet. I need to clear some of the clutter from my livingroom before I do much leaping about to routines as I am libel to do myself a serious injury crashing into the kids toys and games!

Hopefully this time next week I will be celebrating my next 7lb loss - I'm only 1lb off that - which will be a total of 3 1/2 stone in a year!

Weigh In:

  • Me: -3lb
  • Hubby: -3lb
  • My total loss since Nov 2013: 48lb
  • Only 1lb off my next Silver 7!

Things I have learned this week:

  • Walking is a still a great way to earn Active Points
  • There are cheap ways to access fitness routines that can fit around my life
  • I'm sleeping badly - I know I'm not sleeping brilliantly because I'm nursing Freddie, but FitBit is showing me just how badly I'm affected.

Targets for this week:

  • Earn at least 10 Active Points again
  • Walk at least 45,000 steps this week (beating last weeks 42,967)
  • Drop at least 1 lb, aim for 2 lb!

Facebook has changed it’s policy for posts to Facebook pages like mine. They are only showing posts to a few likers unless I pay to boost the views. Since I don't earn money from my blog (or at least not much, not even enough to buy one posh a coffee a week) I wont be doing that. The best way to make sure you will see my blog posts is to subscribe by email up there on the right. I usually only email once a week and include an invitation to my blog hop so you can share your posts too.

You can also go to my page, hover over the “liked” button and select get notifications. Then you will see my posts and status updates in your notifications. Mumma Walker on Facebook

Recipe: Pigsty Pie

This is one that we made up, although we are far from the first or only people to make a pie using pork or pork mince and call it a Pigsty Pie. So let's just say that this is our version of it. It smells great and reminds me of stuffing at Christmas, making it feel much more "naughty" than it is! This serves four people and it a nice 9 points per serving. You will need these for the mash: 400g potatoes 400g sweet potatoes 4-5 good sized carrots Salt Pepper Nutmeg Simply chop the roots, boil in salted water until tender, and mash! Add salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste. The pie filling: 10 sprays low fat cooking spray (e.g. 1 cal) 1/2 lb lean pork mince 2 onions, finely chopped 3 apples, diced 1 leek, chopped 5-6 big mushrooms 2 tbs plain flour 1 tsp sage 1 tsp parsley Salt Pepper 1 vegetable stock cube 1/2 hot water 2 tsp English mustard Fry the onions in the cooking spray until they start to soften, add the mince. Once the meat starts to colour add the apple, leek and mush
