Freddie's Half Birthday!

Ikle Freddie is 6 months old today!

I love this little chap SO much! I am still really enjoying him being a baby. I'm still wearing him in the sling most days - I can't remember the last time I put him in the buggy. I'm still breastfeeding him, although he does have some solids he still chooses boobs over mush most meal times. We're still co-sleeping with him! The mattress has arrived for his cot bed but neither me nor the Hubby have done anything about it yet! He takes up most of the bed with his Starfishing and kicking, but it is so nice having him close to us.

I wish wish WISH I had had the confidence to parent Jack like this. I hardly wore him, barely ever co-slept, and had him on a bottle at 9 months. I did more with Tom, and more again with George, and now with Freddie I feel like we can do it all. It's not made any difference to my relationships with them, or to their health or mental well being... but it makes me feel better. Freddie is a very calm baby and I believe that's because we are more into this "attachment parenting" this time. Parenting a calm and happy baby is much easier than a fussy one!

I'm amazed that we are halfway to his first birthday already. I have no idea where the time has gone. I am still rocked by the thought that it won't be long before he is a toddler. He SO wants to be moving and following his brothers. He clearly loves each and every one of them. He adores his Daddy too, and loves to tug his beard. He snuggles up to Daddy at night for loves (and me for feeds).

Happy Half Birthday to my Littlest Man! Love you Freddie! xxxx

Facebook has changed it’s policy for posts to Facebook pages like mine. They are only showing posts to a few likers unless I pay to boost the views. Since I don't earn money from my blog (or at least not much, not even enough to buy one posh a coffee a week) I wont be doing that. The best way to make sure you will see my blog posts is to subscribe by email up there on the right. I usually only email once a week and include an invitation to my blog hop so you can share your posts too.

You can also go to my page, hover over the “liked” button and select get notifications. Then you will see my posts and status updates in your notifications. Mumma Walker on Facebook

Recipe: Pigsty Pie

This is one that we made up, although we are far from the first or only people to make a pie using pork or pork mince and call it a Pigsty Pie. So let's just say that this is our version of it. It smells great and reminds me of stuffing at Christmas, making it feel much more "naughty" than it is! This serves four people and it a nice 9 points per serving. You will need these for the mash: 400g potatoes 400g sweet potatoes 4-5 good sized carrots Salt Pepper Nutmeg Simply chop the roots, boil in salted water until tender, and mash! Add salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste. The pie filling: 10 sprays low fat cooking spray (e.g. 1 cal) 1/2 lb lean pork mince 2 onions, finely chopped 3 apples, diced 1 leek, chopped 5-6 big mushrooms 2 tbs plain flour 1 tsp sage 1 tsp parsley Salt Pepper 1 vegetable stock cube 1/2 hot water 2 tsp English mustard Fry the onions in the cooking spray until they start to soften, add the mince. Once the meat starts to colour add the apple, leek and mush
