Loving the Loss

It's going to be a tough week this week. I am doing a lot of baking for my eldest boy, who had a party at Beaver's last night and has a cake sale later this week at school. I like to take part and do my bit. But I find it really hard to maintain any self control around all the tasty treats. This week I am surrounded by gingerbread and fudge (there will be a post on my main blog) and nibbling is inevitable.

SO! Since I am resigned to more going in, I need to make sure I am burning it off. I AM NOT QUITTING!

I don't have my Walking Buddy this week but I am still out and about. Yesterday and more than doubled my FitBit step goal. I was well over today as well. Tomorrow might be tricky (I am driving Hubby to a hospital appointment in the next town) but as long as the weather hold off I can get out for a bit on Thu & Fri. I'm going on a big walking trip with my eldest and his Beaver Scout troop on Saturday so that will help too.

I'm not imagining for one second that I will lose anything this week. I am battling for a Stay The Same. But it's a good long while before I'll have to bake/make anything else (I hope) so I'll take this in my stride, chalk it up to experience, etc etc. What I am NOT going to do is say to myself "oh sod it, it's a gain this week so just chuck it all in!"

I have to admit to being a little bit in love with my new shape. It's nice to catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror and see just how much slimmer I am now than I ever remember being. I'm not far off my pre-wedding weight (I found an old blog post with my weight chart on) - the lightest I got to that time was 11 stone. I am 11 stone 6lb right now!

There is no way I am going to let a bit of baking break me now - even with a STS or a Gain this week I am NOT GOING TO QUIT!

Facebook has changed it’s policy for posts to Facebook pages like mine. They are only showing posts to a few likers unless I pay to boost the views. Since I don't earn money from my blog (or at least not much, not even enough to buy one posh a coffee a week) I wont be doing that. The best way to make sure you will see my blog posts is to subscribe by email up there on the right. I usually only email once a week and include an invitation to my blog hop so you can share your posts too.

You can also go to my page, hover over the “liked” button and select get notifications. Then you will see my posts and status updates in your notifications. Mumma Walker on Facebook

Recipe: Pigsty Pie

This is one that we made up, although we are far from the first or only people to make a pie using pork or pork mince and call it a Pigsty Pie. So let's just say that this is our version of it. It smells great and reminds me of stuffing at Christmas, making it feel much more "naughty" than it is! This serves four people and it a nice 9 points per serving. You will need these for the mash: 400g potatoes 400g sweet potatoes 4-5 good sized carrots Salt Pepper Nutmeg Simply chop the roots, boil in salted water until tender, and mash! Add salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste. The pie filling: 10 sprays low fat cooking spray (e.g. 1 cal) 1/2 lb lean pork mince 2 onions, finely chopped 3 apples, diced 1 leek, chopped 5-6 big mushrooms 2 tbs plain flour 1 tsp sage 1 tsp parsley Salt Pepper 1 vegetable stock cube 1/2 hot water 2 tsp English mustard Fry the onions in the cooking spray until they start to soften, add the mince. Once the meat starts to colour add the apple, leek and mush
