Weigh In #25

I am rubbish at school holidays, I really am. This week has been another rough week with a 1lb gain. I've had no car this week (MOT & Service resulted in an expensive part needing to be shipped in) so taking the kids any great distance has been a no-no, and the weather has been awful too so there was little chance of trying to drag them out walking (esp the 2yo & 4yo). In fact we wound up staying in pretty much all week with one trip to a local park (on a freeeeeezing cold day) and one trip to an indoor play area.

We have also enjoyed Pancake Day... with masses of pancakes; some with cheese and ham, some with chocolate and fruit. Not ideal for slimming.

I knew in advance that this would be a hard week though so I have been working on damage limitation. The juicer has been put through it's paces. Even the kids are enjoying the results of my juicing and pinterest addiction (I'll be buying a smoothie maker next). All in all I think a 1lb gain isn't too bad. I was expecting 2-3lb gain. Hubby stayed the same - and he wasn't expecting that either.

Just one more day of holidays left though, and Hubby is home tomorrow too so I am off walking all week if I can. I want to get my steps in, keep juicing and souping and hopefully next week I can lose something. A 1lb gain might not be so bad, but it is two weeks in a row and that has to stop now. I had planned to lose a stone by Easter and now that's looking doubtful. I'm still going for a minimum 7lb loss (9lb now) and I will count anything over that a real bonus.

Someone said to me that my weight loss looked to have "plateaued" and at the same point as last time (before my wedding), but it's not leveled out for no reason. I am secumbing to temptation more easily, using holidays as an excuse to slack off. And I need to get going again! Some one KICK ME back into the Weight Loss Game please!

Weigh In:
  • Me: +1 lb
  • Hubby: STS
  • My total loss since Nov 2013: 58 lb
  • Argh! 2lb gain in two weeks!

Things I have learned this week:
  • It would be really easy to pack all this in right now and gain all my weight back
  • I lost my will power to continue at this same point (weight) last time I tried to get healthy - I need to get past this!
  • I need to get my head back into this!

Targets for this week:
  • Juicing & Souping through the day, proper dinners in the evening. NO MORE JUNK MEALS!
  • Walk 3-4 miles at least 3-4 days this week
  • LOSE! Even if it's just 1lb!

Facebook has changed it’s policy for posts to Facebook pages like mine. They are only showing posts to a few likers unless I pay to boost the views. Since I don't earn money from my blog (or at least not much, not even enough to buy one posh a coffee a week) I wont be doing that. The best way to make sure you will see my blog posts is to subscribe by email up there on the right. I usually only email once a week and include an invitation to my blog hop so you can share your posts too.

You can also go to my page, hover over the “liked” button and select get notifications. Then you will see my posts and status updates in your notifications. Mumma Walker on Facebook

Recipe: Pigsty Pie

This is one that we made up, although we are far from the first or only people to make a pie using pork or pork mince and call it a Pigsty Pie. So let's just say that this is our version of it. It smells great and reminds me of stuffing at Christmas, making it feel much more "naughty" than it is! This serves four people and it a nice 9 points per serving. You will need these for the mash: 400g potatoes 400g sweet potatoes 4-5 good sized carrots Salt Pepper Nutmeg Simply chop the roots, boil in salted water until tender, and mash! Add salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste. The pie filling: 10 sprays low fat cooking spray (e.g. 1 cal) 1/2 lb lean pork mince 2 onions, finely chopped 3 apples, diced 1 leek, chopped 5-6 big mushrooms 2 tbs plain flour 1 tsp sage 1 tsp parsley Salt Pepper 1 vegetable stock cube 1/2 hot water 2 tsp English mustard Fry the onions in the cooking spray until they start to soften, add the mince. Once the meat starts to colour add the apple, leek and mush
