Weigh In #26

At first I thought I had stayed the same this week. In fact I went on my Facebook group and said as much. But once I sat down with my chomebook and started to record my weight on all my little apps and stuff it turns out I did actually lose 1lb! So.. WHOOO! I'm finding it all too easy to think "just 1lb!" so I am dragging out this image from a previous post. It's probably not the last time you see this picture on my blog! Sure, I wish it was more, but a loss is a loss, and after gains and no changes it's brilliant! It's kick started my motivation to get moving again. I'm planning a good walk each day Mon-Fri this week, and to cram in as many steps as I can while the kids are swimming on Sat morning (I get 25 mins max!)
I have ordered a smoothie maker to accompany my juicer. The blender I have been using is part of my ma-hoooo-sive food processor and not really ideal for the job. My smoothie maker looks awesome. It's by the same people as my juicer (which I am using daily and the kids love it too) so I'm hoping it will be every bit as good.

I'm worried about poor Hubby though. He thinks he has hit his mental wall.... He is wavering around 17 stone (just as I have around 11 stone 5) and thinks that "this is it" for him. I really want to keep him motivated but he's having none of it. I'm sticking to making healthy meals for us all as a family, but he eats what he wants when he's at work, and he's been raiding the fridge for the sandwich stuff we have in for the kids school lunches. He shrugs me off when I try to talk to him about it too. He has his next hospital appointment in a little over a week. I'm hoping they will comment on his loss so far and encourage him to carry on!

Weigh In:
  • Me: -1 lb
  • Hubby: +1
  • My total loss since Nov 2013: 59 lb
  • Losing again, phew!

Things I have learned this week:
  • Never give up!
  • I need to keep on moving, at least 4 days a week
  • This is so much harder on my own - I need Hubs back on track!

Targets for this week:
  • Another loss
  • At least 4 days out walking
  • Keep up the fluids (juice, smoothies, water)

Facebook has changed it’s policy for posts to Facebook pages like mine. They are only showing posts to a few likers unless I pay to boost the views. Since I don't earn money from my blog (or at least not much, not even enough to buy one posh a coffee a week) I wont be doing that. The best way to make sure you will see my blog posts is to subscribe by email up there on the right. I usually only email once a week and include an invitation to my blog hop so you can share your posts too.

You can also go to my page, hover over the “liked” button and select get notifications. Then you will see my posts and status updates in your notifications. Mumma Walker on Facebook

Recipe: Pigsty Pie

This is one that we made up, although we are far from the first or only people to make a pie using pork or pork mince and call it a Pigsty Pie. So let's just say that this is our version of it. It smells great and reminds me of stuffing at Christmas, making it feel much more "naughty" than it is! This serves four people and it a nice 9 points per serving. You will need these for the mash: 400g potatoes 400g sweet potatoes 4-5 good sized carrots Salt Pepper Nutmeg Simply chop the roots, boil in salted water until tender, and mash! Add salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste. The pie filling: 10 sprays low fat cooking spray (e.g. 1 cal) 1/2 lb lean pork mince 2 onions, finely chopped 3 apples, diced 1 leek, chopped 5-6 big mushrooms 2 tbs plain flour 1 tsp sage 1 tsp parsley Salt Pepper 1 vegetable stock cube 1/2 hot water 2 tsp English mustard Fry the onions in the cooking spray until they start to soften, add the mince. Once the meat starts to colour add the apple, leek and mush
