Weigh in #30

It's been a pretty crappy year so far. And because I always turn to food when things aren't good my weight loss has gone completely out of the window and I have crept up and up and up. Many of the new dresses I bought no longer fit, I'm back in 18 jeans, and while I am thankfully no where near my original weight I am much much heavier than I want to be.

I've had a few false starts this year, but the season has changed, the sun is trying to break through, and I think I am finally ready to get this show back on the road!

Now for the painful bit.... weigh in.

I am 13st 5lb 2oz this morning (187lb 2 oz). That's almost as much as I was just after my youngest baby was born. It's a gain of over 2 stone 5 lb (33 lb!!!)

I had promised myself not to get over 11 stone. So there's a real kick in the teeth.

I have signed back up for Weight Watchers - not sure why I cancelled (put that down to a depression induced error!). I have contacted Fitbit about my Flex which packed in a month ago, and they are kindly sending me a replacement. Now I just need to get my head round this new Smart Point system and figure out a way to incorporate steps into my working week!

Lets start with some goals!

  • Lose some weight - any amount will do!
  • Get to grips with Weight Watchers Smart Points
  • Find the courage not to tuck into the kids snacks every time I feel emotional!

Facebook has changed it’s policy for posts to Facebook pages like mine. They are only showing posts to a few likers unless I pay to boost the views. Since I don't earn money from my blog (or at least not much, not even enough to buy one posh a coffee a week) I wont be doing that. The best way to make sure you will see my blog posts is to subscribe by email up there on the right. I usually only email once a week and include an invitation to my blog hop so you can share your posts too.

You can also go to my page, hover over the “liked” button and select get notifications. Then you will see my posts and status updates in your notifications. Mumma Walker on Facebook

Recipe: Pigsty Pie

This is one that we made up, although we are far from the first or only people to make a pie using pork or pork mince and call it a Pigsty Pie. So let's just say that this is our version of it. It smells great and reminds me of stuffing at Christmas, making it feel much more "naughty" than it is! This serves four people and it a nice 9 points per serving. You will need these for the mash: 400g potatoes 400g sweet potatoes 4-5 good sized carrots Salt Pepper Nutmeg Simply chop the roots, boil in salted water until tender, and mash! Add salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste. The pie filling: 10 sprays low fat cooking spray (e.g. 1 cal) 1/2 lb lean pork mince 2 onions, finely chopped 3 apples, diced 1 leek, chopped 5-6 big mushrooms 2 tbs plain flour 1 tsp sage 1 tsp parsley Salt Pepper 1 vegetable stock cube 1/2 hot water 2 tsp English mustard Fry the onions in the cooking spray until they start to soften, add the mince. Once the meat starts to colour add the apple, leek and mush
